We have yet more Mendips Action here. Includes alarming pictures of the Canoe Club and an Eskimo Elvis Impersonator.
And the winner is….
John Majeciwz! Yes, John’s many years of drinking experience and enlarged gullet assured him victory in the inaugural RUCC Pub Golf competition. Congratulations to him on his perfect round, along with everyone else involved in the exceptionally silly dancing toward the end of the evening. And get well soon John K.
What we did this weekend…
This weekend we mostly:
-saw some top ferret action
-mooned the canoe club
-traumatised the local children of Priddy Green
Oh, and did some caving.
Photograph of general stuff & caving are here
Photos of the halloween party are here
Photo’s of the clearly weird trip to Brunel to do ladder practice are here.
If anyone wants a decent quality copy e-mailed, as ever let me know. I’m about to reorganise the photos, if anyone wants anything posting now is a good time to tell me.
Next trip is 28-30 November, the University Caving bash. There’s a stomp, so it will involve jumping around like salmon on trampolines.
Oli’s Photos
There’s been a mild update. A handfull of Oli’s Romanian Photos are now in the photo albums to your right. There’s some extra photos in the Caves photos, including Swildon’s Hole (next weekend!). There are new maps to the Queens Head & Brunel Uni on the Information Page. If anyone wants anyhting amended/added/obliviated please let me know.

That weekend evidence in full…

We have now posted all the photos from last weekend (Derbyshire/Alton Towers). It’s available as a photo album (see right hand column) but temporarily here at better quality. Warning – contains evidence of pole dancing, silly caving garb and expressions of sheer terror. If anyone wants me to e-mail copies of full quality versions let me know.
Subscriptions
It’s long been a mystery, but if you wish to subscribe or unsubscribe to the RU Cavers E-mail list instructions are now available at the bottom of the information page. Your request will be subject to a moderator (a Mr Chris Zebedee of Newbury) who is there to prevent spam from reaching us.
Hidden Earth 2003
A number of us had a rather good time at the Hidden Earth conference this weekend. Photographic evidence of this can be found by clicking on the first photo album in the column to the left. The event also saw the debut of the Speleolabs brand, which is now well and truly launched. Thanks in particular to the Kings and Queen of the catwalk for their help.
And don’t forget the slideshow this evening.

The Big Launch is Coming
![]()
look forward to seeing some of you at next weekend’s Hidden Earth conference. As well as being the centre of the caving universe that weekend, the conference also marks the official launch of Speleolabs. We hope to see some of you at our stand, which in terms of quality and impact should knock Inglesport’s into a cocked helmet. The weekend should also see the final delivery on the online speleoshop (this link will be working after next weekend).
