So farewell, then…
Kate, who is leaving us for the flatness of Cambridgeshire. In celebration of her departure the club are requested to congregate in the Back of Beyond on Thursday 22nd, from 7.30 onwards. Which by happy coincidence is the same venue/time as Mark’s visit (see below). Please make sure you attend this double celebration/farewell and enjoy all the economies of scale/effort it involves. Sadly the ferret will not be in attendance.
Radio Programme on Caving
Radio 4 recently did a programme on caving and wildlife, on location in the Three Peaks. Still available online – see here
Trip To The Back Of Beyond (and back again)
Some of you may remember Mark Horswill, a founding father of the modern club and part of the bedrock on which the club built its foundations. Having gone to live in Australia Mark finds himself back here and in the Back of Beyond, Kings Road on Thursday 22nd January, from 8.00 pm onwards. All welcome – you can ask him about the old days when they used to pad their boiler suits out with moss to keep warm.
Celebrate With Us
Merry Christmas
to you all. And to remind you what you’ll be missing over the Christmas break there half a dozen more photos in the “Caves’ photos, taken in OFD.
Christmas Party
Photos now available here. Thanks to John, his housemates and to those did the cooking/claning.
CHECC 2003
This weekend RUCC mostly:
– nearly won a playstation on a radio phone in
– learned how to do body traversing
– became tired and emotional to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’
Oh, and did some caving. Pictures from the annual ‘CHECC’ University Caving Club are here
New in the Photo Cupboard
We have LOADS of new photos on the website. Firstly we finally have some decent photos of caves what we have done here. Secondly there’s some of the recent trip to the Chalk Mines of Central Berkshire – here.
There’s also some pictures of our recent ‘Pub Golf’ event here and finally some top election action here.
Prepare to Stomp
Quick reminder – this weekend is the University Caving Bash, held at Rhongyr Isaf. This is situated just off the A4067 that runs between Swansea and Sennybridge. We have a few things planned to mark us out from ‘just any other caving club’, but if you feel like it bring a hat. Sillier the better. And be prepared to dance about like frogs on hotplates.
